Władysław Jan Grabski Public Library in Ursus District in Warsaw/Poland. The Library collects educational books with special attend to authentic materials, used in teaching adults and retired. It organizes and conducts the workshops for teachers and educators of life long learning, promoting those teaching methods, which encourage the participants of the University of the Third Age to be active. The Library impacts the European awareness of the members of local society through organizing meetings for young people and adults with the representatives of European institutions in Warsaw. The Library initiated the series of the meetings: "Ursus District key people read their favourite books to children". Every month the Library organizes The Lowest Price Book Fairs, during which famous editors present the books chosen on account of disabled children, minority and local heritage, adults and retired. The Library has under its medial auspices President Stanisław Wojciechowski Association of the University of the Third Age in Ursus. A special sub website of the U3A of the whole Poland has been created and is maintained on the Library's website. The Library gives the room of the Science Reading room to organize the workshops for the Reading Club.

People's University in Vienna/Austria is the biggest institution for adult education in Austria. Within its varied and many-sided structures, offers life long learning courses and seminars in many fields, such as communication, presentation techniques, information technologies, culture, literature, art, foreign languages, health, integration of handicapped and ecology. The University has much experience in working with Grundtvig 2 projects.
The Higher School of Education in the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in Castelo Branco/Portugal runs translation, secretarial and social services courses. It has 500 students in the initial teaching programmes. It is also currently developing post-graduate courses in library science, resource centres and information management. The Higher School of Education has been involved in European cooperation projects for 10 years (SOCRATES, ERASMUS, LINGUA, COMENIUS, MINERVA, ACCOMPANYING MEASURES) and has experience in participating in international projects.
The Higher School of Technology and Management in Portalegre / Portugal is the largest of the four Higher Education Institutions integrated in the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. The School's major strategic lines of action are organized into 3 fundamental directions, namely: the consolidation of formal education in the scientific areas of Design, Management, Engineering and social Sciences, the development of research centre closely related and significant to the local industries and surrounding population's needs, the providing of life long education to adults. The School has got practice in that area.
The Catholic Polytechnic Leuven - Teacher Training Department / Belgium has large experience with working with many European educational programs such as: Socrates, Erasmus, Leonardo, Comenius, Grundtvig 2, Minerva, Eurydice), ATEE, REFLECT, TNTEE, ETEN, BENE, BUSINET, EAIE, ECPAT, FLORENCE, GENDER, LEONET, RIAC, TANTE, CL-NET, ELISE, ATPAC, . National programmes funded by the Flemish Government (EVC), ESF….and provides initial training for nursery, primary and secondary teachers. It also provides adult education and training (special needs, primary education in 1 year) and continuous education. The KHLeuven has a long tradition in EU-cooperation programmes. Literature and reading are main subjects at the Department of Teacher Training.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Libraries and Publications / Turkey - is a governmental institution serving in the area of mass and cultural education with 81 city, 436 public, 49 juvenile, 14 manuscript and 680 district libraries. There are 1260 libraries affiliated with the directorate by which they serve for adults, handicapped, children, young and socially disadvantaged people in the field of mass education both in local and national level. The aim is to cooperate, mainly, with public libraries and also with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Grundtvig-2 projects. Moreover, guidance for other public libraries and encouraging the books about the cultural diversity of Turkey are the other areas of activity of the directorate.
YADA Foundation (Yaşama Dair Vakıf) / Turkey aims to produce knowledge and information on each aspect of social life and transmitting them into the practical and feasible application projects serving for the common good. In this sense, the basic mission of the foundation can be defined as bridging the gap between the academic world and daily life, i.e. “theory” and “everyday life.” Apart from its scientific character, the foundation is all in all an application and implementation center which is designed to produce feasible and sustainable policies/projects and information open to the use of everyone.Beside many aspects of social life, the foundation has been working on the issue of underdevelopment of reading and writing culture in Turkey, together with the adult illiteracy -a very frequently experienced phenomenon in Turkey. In respect to the second issue, we particularly concentrated on the improvement of education techniques in adult literacy courses.
